Holy Monday
It’s the first day of the Holy Week…. The day is slow, nothing much happened. Usually, this is time of the year that people repent for the sins that they have done… (In the catholic church at least) They hit themselves with some whip or whatever, they fast, they visit churches (called “Bisita Iglesia”). Maybe they want to share the load that Jesus had carried, or in the very least experience the hardship that HE had suffered. Hmm, that made me think… should I do penitence?
A recap of my Religion Class: There are 10 commandments in the OLD TESTAMENT, and there are 2 Commandments in the NEW TESTAMENT. There are 14 station of the cross. There are 7 sacraments, 7 mortal sins. There are 15 mysteries of the rosary…
“Thou shall not have other Gods before me”
”Thou shall not use the name of the Lord your God in Vain” – hesusmariosep? Diyos ko po? God Damn it?
”Thou shall attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Holidays” – “Ouch!!”
”Thou shall honor thy father and thy mother”—“Umm… kinda breached it sometimes…” putang ina mo –honorable huh?
”Thou shall not kill” – I have done this mentally.
”Thou shall not steal.” – I would not use steal —I would use “rip-off” since I keep the change sometimes ahehehe, besides I always ask permission .. after the deed.
”Thou shall not commit adultery”
”Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbors”
”Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s wife” – Girlfriends included?????
“Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s good” – in relation to the stealing stuff.
Whew! I remember them all! Yey! Yey! I wish that whenever tempted, I would remember them all.
