my philippine idol

i never have written it down that i watch P.I. eversince it was launched last june/july. Secretly, I was a P.I. fan. Since I was not working then, i see to it that i watch the show every week-- watching as hundreds or even thousands of Filipinos auditioned.

Among those who auditioned was Paula Patricia Chavez, a.k.a. POW. She sang a Jackson 5 song, and she made me a fan. I can still remember the first results night, my heart was pounding like i'm going to have a heart attack. Honestly,I was relieved when Ryan said she was safe. Since then, eventhough I don't get to watch her performance, i see to it that i vote two times in the least... that was until they cut the voting time to two hours.

Anyway, what am i ranting about? I am so disappointed that she got voted off last night. She does not deserve it. She was by far better than Jan, or Miguel.. or even Gian. She has the package, she can dance, she has the charm, the stage presence, that cute smile that could take your breath away. Nevertheless, she put up a good fight. Getting voted off doesn't mean that she has less fans. Well.. it proves that her fans are not those rich.. but i am sure there are plenty of people out there willing to support a talent like her. It would have been great if not for those rich people. Oh, well... my heart breaks... life is unfair.. but still Pow will always be the Philippine Idol for me.

Her thank you speech:**

Pow Chavez: (teary goodbye)
“Baka hindi na ako makakanta (pause) di ako umiiyak (pause) ah gusto ko lang pong magpasalamat sa (pause MR C hands her a hanky) mula po sa puso ko (pause) nagpapasalamat po ako tinanggap ninyo ako at nakarating ako ganito kalayo (pause) di po ako sumasali sa mga singing contest kasi natatakot ako na baka hindi nyo ko tanggapin, isang taong kagaya ko, pero kaya po ako narito kasi po gusto ko kumanta….

To you, you did good... your family and friends are proud of you for making it this far. For loving what you do, and doing what you love. I know you'll achieve greater heights and better opportunities. Congratulations.. it's a job well done.
