overpricing s.o.b.
The tricycle driver of the trike that I took tonight was an overpricing son of a bitch. She (yes, its a woman.. middle aged one at that..) asked me for 40 bucks! Darn, the fare in the FX is only 35 and the buses only charges 30 (Aircon ones). She told me that its their regular charge since it's already 11 pm. She kept on yabberin' bout having a customer from our place earlier on. But then, I have made my mind not to fall victme of her explanation.
I do understand that she's making a living.. but then, i'm not fucking rich to just give her my hard-earned money...ok.. i know the term "hard-earned" is still questionable...nevertheless, I didn't get that money the easy way! I told her that they should put a sign and have a fix fare. I think I'm going to write the LTFRB BULACAN about that... or the MAYOR of Guiguinto. Whatever the outcome of the said action is, what's impostant is that someone stood up to this kind of abuse. WE ALL ARE WORKING TO MAKE A LIVING. And it would not hurt if we make our living in an equitable way.
Just FARE is one of the problem that we face even at our own TODA (READ: Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association) Some of them don't even have proper franchise and yet they have the nerve to charge too much. I'm not saying that I get a free ride.. fuck, I can pay.. but I'm not willing to give in to the abusive whims of idiotic few.
I would like to congratulate myself for being able to say "NO". I think I've done a great job.
