life-dreams
Going back to my lessons in Simplify and live a good life by Bo Sanchez. I am now at page 63, dreaming your life-dreams. As a part of the exercises, I have to reflect on and answer the following questions:
1. What kind of life do you really want? I want a life of contentment and peace of mind, satisfaction with the things that I already have and stop feeling envious of other people’s success or material things. Peace of mind knowing in myself that I have been kind to my family, friends and other people, that somehow I was able to share myself and things that I possessed.
2. Do you want to travel? – Yes, I want to explore other places and see the world.
3. Meet new people and share life and love? – Yes, meeting new people sharing with them stories and laughter gives me an elated feeling. A feeling like it is actually not impossible for people to like me.
4. Operate a retreat house by the seaside? – I am not sure whether I want to operate a retreat house but I definitely want a house by the seaside.
5. Adopt and live with 12 orphans in a huge house – Adoption is not far from my mind. I don’t want a huge house.
6. Write a novel that will inspire thousands? – Yes, although I am not good writer, I would want to write something that will inspire people to live and persevere. I want to make people laugh also.
7. Work part time so that you have more opportunities for helping the poor? I want to work part time because I want to earn extra cash so I could support charities and finally be engaged in civic works.
8. Start a small catering service? – Nope, though I love cooking very much, I really don’t like washing the dishes.
9. Build your own cottage on an island? Nope, I just want a house by the seaside.
10. Set up your own school? – Yes, preferably pre-school. Something to do with children. :)
11. Be a full time mother to you children—and your children’s friends? – Yes, it would be the most fulfilling dream ever, to nurture your children with love and help them grow to be God fearing, responsible adults.
12. What are you greatest strengths? – Dependability, humor, optimism, candor, frankness, creativeness, resourcefulness, just.
13. What is that primary gift that has been given to you so you can bless the world? My gift of laughter.
14. What do you enjoy doing the most? - Share a good story, a good laugh. I love writing funny stories. Giving the people I love the things that they need.
15. What were the happiest moments of your life? – When I do deeds of kindness.
16. What were you doing during those moments? – Just being a good person to others I guess.
17. If given an opportunity to live in any way and do anything—no matter how crazy your choice would be—what kind of life would you choose to live? I would be a philanthropist. Giving things away because others need it more than I do.
18. On your 75th birthday, what kind of person would you want to be by that time? My fulfilled self. Satisfied that I have done everything I am supposed to do.
19. What accomplishments would you want to have attained? – I have passed the bar and became a good lawyer. I have a beautiful house, a loving family, and wonderful children and become involved in charity works.
20. If family members were to honor you on your 75th birthday party and thank you and speak good things that you have done, what would you want them to say? – I want them to say that I have been a good daughter and sibling. I have been a good friend, a good public servant who makes everybody smile with her crazy stories.
My personal mission statement: It is in giving to others that you will find true happiness.
